I wanted something different with a pop of burnt orange in my hallway. I found this vase on Amazon. Some of the reviews showed this vase darker or bent. Fortunately mine came bright like I wanted it. Sturdy and not bent or broken. I order maple pampas stems from Amazon that looks beautiful in this vase. It has a tribal antique vibe to it. Simple but beautiful.Very happy, pretty, sturdy and damn near unbreakableThis floor vase looks like an antique. It is sturdy and it is larger than I expected. I love it!OK - so I paid very close attention to the reviews before ordering this product, and I would say most of the negative reviews about this product are spot on. It is very flimsy and cheaply made. The paint is not bright and vibrant, and the seams and welds are sloppy. It really reminds me of a high school metal shop project. So why four stars? Because I read the reviews, knew what to expect, and only paid $46 bucks for this thing with free shipping. Where else are you going to spend under $50 for a metal vase this size, regardless of quality? I have it in the corner hidden behind a sectional so mine is not seen. I really don't care - it just needed to hold my twigs and branches, which it does superbly. If I had purchased this with the idea it was going to look identical to the picture, and it was going to be expertly crafted; then I would have been very upset, especially regarding both the color, but mostly the seams and welds. If you're looking for a dirt cheap, large vase; this definitely is a good buy. If you're looking for a high end, top quality, decorative showpiece for your formal entry; you're going to need to cough up more than $50 bucks.A very antiquish, unique work of art that adds a 'regal charisma to almost any home. Certain types of decor in a home says a lot about its owner, just as much as the clothes worn reflects a part of the wearer's personality. To me, 'Tuscan Old World Metal Planter' says the owner has 'good taste'. So, after it arrived and I saw up close how handsome and distinguished it was, I order another one. Which means that I have exceptionally good taste. Two is better than one! I'm not exactly sure where I'll eventually place them , but they have a new home. I added a little weight by placing a leather bag with several hundred quarters in it down in the bottom. A temporary measure to prevent it from accidentally being knocked over. The stand is soldered to the vase and cannot be removed. It is really 27" tall with approximately 9 1/2" across the top, which can easily accommodate a 5-6" potted plant. I don't know, but I'm thinking maybe peacock feathers??? This is the type of decor where I wouldn't be surprised if it soon becomes 'Out of Stock' or 'No longer available '. I'm very pleased with this purchase and if you have come this far as to read my review, you must be interested in it. Buy it, now! Reasonably priced, super-fast shipping (UPS), packaged very well, excellent customer service.Highly recommended! Five stars! Thanks uma!!!I purchased this for $40 with shipping, and for that price, it's well worth it. Like other reviews said, the vase is much more muted than it appears in the photo, as it has been faux aged and is not particularly glossy. The reddish browns are still there, but without applying a clear gloss to the vase it's more of a uniform darker bronze-brown. The faux aging doesn't stand up to close scrutiny, so choose something else to impress your house guests. This is more of something you'd find in the corner of the set of a mid-budget TV series in a scene involving the living room of a cartel boss.It is light, and sounds tinny when you tap it, but it seems to be made well enough that it won't bend or break from a short fall or toppling. It certainly could support a decently weighted plant, although I only have decorative fake flower arrangement in there right now (purchased separately). It seems to vary in price quite a bit, from $40 with shipping up to $60, so it may pay to wait a little before you pull the trigger on your purchase at Amazon.I saw several reviewers complaining about bright green smears on this vase. I ordered anyway, with fingers crossed, but nope - I am not one of the lucky ones.Cons:a) nowhere near the color shown online - mine are a deep reddish color, nearly black (with light neon green smears)b) very lightweight - not sure how they would work with a top-heavy plant in themc) although a number of people claim they have a 6" opening, the ones I receive quickly narrow down to only about 4 5/8", which means only the tiniest of pots would fitd) one of mine has a sort of bump-out on one seam that looks like shoddy manufacturingPros:a) from a distance they are cute enoughb) they have a lot of presence for something that is only about 26 1/2" tallBack to the smears: some of them are nearly an inch wide and they are all around the neck, all around all the swirls, spirals, curlicues and other decorations, AND in almost all the grooves. I didn't notice at first, because the room was bright and I was too busy trying to think of a way to fit my silk plants in 5.5" pots into the tiny neck. But once I put the plant down and stepped back to ponder the possibility of finding a different use for them, the smears suddenly struck my eyes and I was shocked I had missed them earlier.Maybe they would wipe off, but I am not going to try -- they are too extensive, all over, and I wouldn't want to risk damaging the finish - if there is a finish underneath them.
