From the moment Thea is born, flowers have always been and still are a very important part of her life: 'People sometimes ask me where I get the inspiration for my designs, a question which never fails to surprise me. I always answer: look out of your window and you will see inspiration everywhere - in gardens, in hedgerows, in fields, woods and hills. There are so many beautiful flowers, plants, bushes and trees growing, that there is not enough time to stitch them all'. The whole kit is very high-quality. The fabric is Zweigart—not the cheap stuff. You can get the Aida in black or white. Be aware that stitching on black fabric can be challenging. The floss is organized on floss cards. I run a piece of clear tape down the middle on the front and back of these, just to keep them fresher. The ends of the floss are neatly taped. I’ve never had trouble getting the tape off. (Use scissors.) Plenty of floss—you’ll have extra. There are no DMC numbers on the floss, but what would you need them for anyway?Kit is best for an intermediate-level stitcher. You probably want to grid your fabric. Design is intricate and has backstitch, but no half-or quarter-stitches. There is a picture in two places to show you whether to use 1 or 2 strands of floss. My 580A kit called for 1 over 2 on the 36 count linen. There is a FaceBook group you can join, so if you have any questions, the cross stitch community is very, very friendly and will be happy to help. Or search YouTube—“Thea Gouverneur FlossTube.”Thea is very, very respected in the cross-stitch community for her gorgeous designs and high-quality kits. She doesn’t just pdf a photo and let the software decide the colors. Some people just collect her kits, because they go out of print and increase in value. Happy stitching!I have had a good experience working with this kit. The threads and fabric are of high quality. The threads come strung on cards; to make working with them easier, I wind each on a cardboard floss bobbin after I've pulled it for use, careful to copy the symbol correctly on each one. Then, I store the bobbins on large binder rings kept in Ziploc bags to keep them clean and organized. The pattern is intricate and all in black and white small print. To keep track of my place, I lightly shade completed stitches in pencil. As others have stated, there are no DMC numbers included for copyright reasons. I completely understand and support this, as copyright violation with cross stitch patterns is a huge problem. Also, it is clearly directed that you are to use one strand of floss while stitching. None of this is a complaint; I fully expect this type of prep and work when doing this complex/large of a project. This is definitely an advanced/intermediate level project. I have been cross stitching for 35 years and find this design pleasantly challenging. The pattern is very clear and easy to follow. Thread allotment appears to be adequate to generous. This is not a pattern for someone who is a beginner with cross stitch! If you like flowers and this style patterns I strongly recommend it.Quick delivery, impressed with the quality. Can't wait to start it.Never brought such an expensive cross stitch kit - I haven’t started it yet but the quality looks stunningVery high quality kit. I was very excited about receiving my kit and I’m really pleased with the whole presentation. I loved the fact that the chart was on 16 separate sheets of paper making it easier to work the design. I did the Tutankhamen design 30 yrs ago and loved working on that.Beautiful design and top quality can't wait to start it .conforme mais comme souvent votre demande d avis est trop rapide en terme de temps eu égard à la date de commande et réceptionL'entreprise hollandaise "Thea Gouverneur" nous propose tout le matériel nécessaire pour réaliser au point de croix le tableau " Nature morte avec des fleurs dans un vase en verre" du peintre néerlandais du XVII ° Jan Davidsz de Heem .Une fois terminée, le canevas sera aux dimensions de 72 x 49 cm .Ce kit comprend la toile de lin de bonne épaisseur et toute la laine nécessaire.
