As far back as I can remember, I have always had a profound interest in Asia ... primarily Japan and China. We were lucky to have served in both countries (Foreign Service), and those memories of both lands and people are very special. We desired to replace a lamp in the living room with one reflecting this theme. I noticed this particular lamp from ORIENTAL FURNITURE (offered via AMAZON) and knew it was THE ONE. I admit to reading several customer experiences of the lamps being damaged en route and was crossing my fingers after ordering this one. It arrived yesterday. The box was fairly well dinged up, and I worried. However, upon opening, everything was fine! The lamp was packed well and protected. The lamp is substantial and beautiful with its reflections of the MING DYNASTY. I would absolutely give this my highly unofficial SEAL OF APPROVAL! Would I buy it again? ABSOLUTELY!
